Pic of the Day: Stranded – Kayakers on Sydney Harbour Part 2

I’m sure the idea is to stay in the kayak …

I was down at Balmoral this morning for a swim on another 35 degree plus Spring day and noticed a bunch of kayakers close to the rocks off the point. When I got closer I saw one standing on a rock and the tail of his boat pointing in the air. They were practising self rescue techniques and getting back in the boat while in the water, but something clearly didn’t go to plan with this one!

Here are a few other snaps from another stunning Sydney morning.

  1. Hey, Mates, thanks for checking out my blog (ospreypaddler). I have really enjoyed looking at yours. Your night on Mt. Cook reminds me of a night I spent on the top of Mt. Whitney in March of 1969 (-20F).

  2. Nice site – bw photo of Balmoral makes for a more dramatic scene. Can you kayak across the harbour? If so what would be the shortest crossing? Kirribilli to Bennelong Point?
