Forêt de Fontainebleau

The first week of my study in France included a leadership development component run by Outward Bound. The session was focused on developing leadership and team skills and an opportunity for us to work with the groups that we have formed for much of the EMBA course work.

Aside from being a fantastic learning exercise, the session had the added benefit of meaning we spent a day in the magical Fontainbleau Forest.

The Forest is located about 60km south of Paris and spans some 280 square kilometres. It is renowned for its unique boulders which also make it home to some of the world’s best bouldering routes.

During my trip I managed to get out for quite a few trail runs on the fringes but this day allowed us to see a bit more. I’m looking forward to exploring further on a future visit.
