Despite the thrill of all the travelling I’ve done this year, there is something special about coming home. This photo is taken at the top of the sand hill that dominates One Mile Beach in my home town of Forster. It remains one of my favourite places in the world and for me there is no better spot to sit and contemplate life as the afternoon sun fades away.
Took the kids up the hill on a fleeting trip north from Sydney to see family. There was a group of guys enjoying some snowboarding on the upper section of the hill. We got into some boogie boarding down the steep section. A good 30m+ run onto the flats below.
