Narrawallee Beach Walk

After positive reports from my doctor and a clean bill of health on the X-Rays I started my recovery from pneumonia this morning with an easy walk – one of my favourites on the NSW South Coast from Bannister Head in Mollymook to the end of Narrawallee Beach and back.

The walk takes about 1hr 15 mins at a relaxed pace. It starts with a cliff top walk along the headland with sweeping views north over the beach and towards Green Island up the coast. A bush track then leads down from Bannister Head Road to the beach.

This morning I went early and caught the perfect conditions – a low tide meaning a firm, flat beach to walk and a stunning sunrise light. It was a fitting way to ease back in and welcome the dawn of a new era after the sad news that my Grandpa (and last grandparent) passed in his sleep yesterday.

There were lots of walkers out and a bunch of surfers enjoying the swell in the northern corner of the beach who you can just make out in the photos below.

  1. Sorry for your loss. It’s tough and there will be many tears and memories. Experience them fully! Your photos a lovely. I can picture you walking, exhaling troubled times and inhaling a healing balm.

  2. We are so sorry to hear about your grandfather. Per your post, we’re reminded that somehow, some way, the outdoors puts everything right in our minds. J&A
